In around an hour’s time, FC Bayern will host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. We bring you the starting line-ups for the match.
After their spectacular 4-3 win at 1. FSV Mainz 05, Munich are fully focused on the Champions League. In the semi-final first leg against PSG, the German record champions will once again rely on their top line-up. Vincent Kompany makes eight changes to his starting eleven compared to the Bundesliga game in Mainz.
For FC Bayern, the aim in Paris is to be in a good position for the second leg in the Allianz Arena. Kompany himself is suspended from the sidelines and will be replaced by Aaron Danks. The head coach will watch the match from a box, with no direct contact with the bench or the team permitted during the game.
Manuel Neuer returns in goal, with Josip Stanisic, Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah and Alphonso Davies forming the back four. Konrad Laimer is on the bench for the time being.
In central midfield, Bayern will rely on Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic, both of whom are expected to provide control against PSG’s strong central line. Leon Goretzka, who started in Mainz, is back in the starting line-up.
Musiala to whirl behind Kane
In attack, the record champions will field their best available line-up, with Michael Olise starting on the right and Luis Díaz on the left. Jamal Musiala will take up the central role behind Harry Kane, who will once again start in the heart of the attack after his substitute role in Mainz.
Compared to the Mainz game, only Davies, Pavlovic and Díaz remain in the starting line-up, with Jonas Urbig, Konrad Laimer, Minjae Kim, Hiroki Ito, Goretzka, Raphaël Guerreiro, Bara Sapoko Ndiaye and Nicolas Jackson all rotating out.
