FC Bayern are just one win away from reaching the Champions League final. The same applies to Real Madrid. After the 2-2 draw in the first leg of the semi-final, fans can look forward to a thrilling match. Real coach Carlo Ancelotti is hoping for a „magical night“ at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

After the first leg between Bayern and Real failed to produce a winner, the final decision on who will travel to London for the Champions League final on 1 June will be made tomorrow evening in Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti made it clear at the pre-match press conference that he does not expect either team to be afraid: „I think both clubs are similar, they have a great history, a great tradition and are very successful in the Champions League.“

Even though Real are unbeaten in 29 home games, the Italian has great respect for FCB, which is mainly due to their strong performance in the first leg: „I think we respect each other. In a semi-final, you have to respect your opponents because they did very well and they were better than us in the first leg.“

„I live for days like today“

The 64-year-old has already won the premier class four times, but Ancelotti is still full of anticipation: „I live for days like today. It’s a semi-final. It’s a motivation to be there on a day like today. Preparing for a semi-final and having the chance to play a final again is very motivating.“

In view of the home strength and the good first leg result, many fans and experts see Real as the (clear) favourites. Ancelotti, on the other hand, is reluctant to make any predictions ahead of the game: „Of course it will be tough, there are many difficulties to overcome. But we are in a very good mood, very motivated. It could be another magical night for us and for the fans.“
