After a four-year absence, FC Bayern is back in the Champions League semi-finals. For Thomas Tuchel, this is the third time he has made it to the last four of the top flight. His record in this regard is certainly impressive.

„We’re really looking forward to it,“ emphasised Thomas Tuchel at the final press conference ahead of today’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid.

Bayern will go into the semi-final first leg against the Whites with great self-confidence after their convincing performance against Arsenal. According to Tuchel, the joy outweighs the supposed nervousness: „It’s definitely a very big and colourful game that we’re all really looking forward to. It’s an absolutely worthy semi-final in the Champions League“.

Will Tuchel achieve the final hat-trick?

Looking at his personal semi-final record in the Champions League, there is no reason to be nervous in Munich. Tuchel has reached the last four of the top flight twice. He reached the final both times. in 2020, he won through with PSG against RB Leipzig – but was defeated by Bayern in the final. Just one year later, Tuchel reached the semi-finals again with Chelsea FC, knocking Real Madrid out of the competition and securing the trophy with the Blues in the final against Manchester City.

What is also remarkable is that Tuchel has reached eleven semi-finals with his clubs since 2016, none of which he has ever lost. It will be exciting to see whether he can complete his hat-trick of Champions League finals.
