Will the Bayern bosses hit the jackpot in their search for a new coach? The Munich managers are said to be dreaming of a return of Pep Guardiola.

Max Eberl raised eyebrows after the 3-1 defeat at VfB Stuttgart with regard to FC Bayern’s coaching search. The sporting director explained: „In life it’s sometimes surprising: doors close, you’re hugely disappointed. And suddenly doors open that you thought were impossible three weeks ago.“ Eberl went on to say to the reporters present: „I’ll leave you to it.“

Could Eberl be referring to a major solution? The return of Pep Guardiola?

According to kicker, there are rumours at Säbener Straße that the bosses of the German record champions are dreaming of Guardiola’s return.

According to the report, the Catalan never completely called it quits in Munich after leaving in 2016. The 53-year-old still owns a flat in the Bavarian capital and visits Munich from time to time.

Early Guardiola farewell from Man City?

Guardiola coached Bayern from 2013 to 2016, becoming German champion three times and winning the DFB Cup twice. However, he was unable to win the Champions League with FCB. As the portal fussball.news reports, it is rumoured in advisory circles that Guardiola has therefore „not yet finished writing his story at FC Bayern“.

The task of leading Bayern to a new edition of the „Final Dahoam“ – the 2025 Champions League final will take place in the Allianz Arena, as it did in 2012 – could possibly be an appealing one for him.

After his time in Munich, Guardiola moved to Manchester City, where he still works today. His contract with the Skyblues runs until 2025, but reports are circulating in the English media that he could leave Manchester as early as this summer.
