Harry Kane scored his 31st goal of the current Bundesliga season in the away win against Darmstadt 98. However, the 30-year-old had to be substituted with an injury shortly before the end of the match. Despite his injury, the England captain is travelling to the Three Lions‘ international trip. Bayern, however, will not let their top goalscorer out of their sight.

In the 5-2 win at bottom-of-the-table Darmstadt, Harry Kane had to leave the pitch for the first time this season due to injury. In the 78th minute of the game, he crashed into the post while trying to reach the ball. After brief treatment, the striker left the pitch with a limp. „It’s a bit painful!“ explained Kane afterwards in the mixed zone.

As Bayern announced on Sunday, Kane has suffered an ankle injury. According to BILD, it is an injury to the capsule of the left ankle.

„Harry will not take any risks“

Nevertheless, Kane is travelling to the England national team. According to Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund, there is a concrete reason for this: „He will have an examination in England. He has trusted doctors there.“

However, the 46-year-old emphasised that Munich are not letting Kane out of their sight: „We are in close consultation,“ said the Austrian, describing the exchange with the English national team: „Harry will not take any risks,“ the 46-year-old continued.

In other words, Bayern will keep a very close eye on how Kane’s injury develops in the coming days. Munich are struggling with massive injury worries this season. The loss of top striker Kane would be a major setback.

The English national team will play against Brazil (23 March) and Belgium (26 March). As things stand today, it is completely unclear whether Kane will be ready for action again by then.
