Is the DFB now also losing Aleksandar Pavlovic? The Serbian association is luring the FC Bayern youngster and reports talks with the 19-year-old’s parents.

Aleksandar Pavlovic’s strong performances in the FC Bayern jersey have now brought the Serbian Football Association onto the scene. Born in Munich, Pavlovic has both nationalities and could therefore also play for the Serbian national team.

The association published a statement on its website in which talks with Pavlovic and his parents were reported.

A delegation led by national team director Stefan Stojanovic had been in Munich. „The talks were constructive and direct for both sides,“ Stojanovic is quoted as saying. They had been in contact with Pavlovic’s parents for months.

Stojanovic also presented Pavlovic with an invitation for the upcoming international matches against Russia and Cyprus. But the 19-year-old declined.

„As we were informed, Aleksandar does not want to make a decision before the European Championship in Germany. We absolutely understand this behaviour. We will continue to follow him and stay in contact. We wish Aleksandar every success for the rest of the season and hope that he will be wearing the Serbian jersey from the autumn.“

Pavlovic about to make his German U21 debut

After Can Uzun and Kenan Yildiz , who both recently opted for Turkey, is the DFB losing another top talent? It doesn’t look like it at the moment. The chances are good that things will go better for Pavlovic.

As reported by Sky, U21 national coach Antonio di Salvo has called up Pavlovic for the U21 international matches against Kosovo and Israel (22 and 26 March). And Pavlovic is happy to accept the invitation.

National coach Julian Nagelsmann apparently already has the midfield jewel on his radar and wants to keep an eye on him. A later nomination for the senior national team is not out of the question. Pavlovic already played two international matches for the German U20 national team last November.
