Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick showered praises on Leon Goretzka after the 5-1 win over FC Koln in the Bundesliga on Saturday evening.
Two goals each from Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry, and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s early strike gave the Bavarian giants a well-deserved win and helped them maintain their lead at the top of the table.
Goretzka set up goals for Lewandowski, Gnabry, and Chupo-Moting, making it four assists in his last two games. He was also instrumental in setting up Jamal Musiala’s goal in the 4-1 Champions League win at Lazio earlier in the week.

And Flick was extremely impressed with the 26-year-old and also admitted his admiration for the immediate impact that both Gnabry and Thomas Muller had after their return to the team.
“Serge Gnabry and Thomas Müller were very valuable for us today as substitutes,” said Flick (as captured by Tz).
“Leon Goretzka did an excellent job preparing the goals. That’s why he was player of the day for me.”
Flick expects more from Bayern
While he was all praises for his players, the Bayern boss did admit that there still is room for improvement. Bayern conceded for the fourth time in a row, and have struggled to keep clean sheets this season.
“We will analyse the game and show it to the team,” he added.
“There were one or two things I didn’t like But we’ll go from game to game. That approach worked well last year.
“What comes out in the end is up to us. If we put in the performances and pick up wins, we can finish top of the league.”
Bayern are next in action against Borussia Dortmund who visit the Allianz Arena for this season’s second Der Klassiker, and Flick will be looking forward to notching up yet another win over their rivals.
