Dusan Vlahovic has been repeatedly linked with FC Bayern in the past. Now the forward has found a new club.
Dusan Vlahovic’s future has been settled. After the 26-year-old’s contract with Juventus expired this summer, the Serbian national team player is joining Besiktas Istanbul. This also takes one name off the market who had recently been regularly linked to FC Bayern.
As Sky reports, Vlahovic is moving to Istanbul on a free transfer. At the top Turkish club, the center forward has signed a contract through 2029. He is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, with his physical scheduled for Thursday.
Of particular interest from Bayern’s perspective is another piece of information from the TV network. According to the report, contrary to repeated speculation, the Munich club was never seriously interested in signing the former Juventus striker. Sky clarifies Bayern’s interest: “FC Bayern was never in the picture.”
The name Vlahovic has come up regularly in recent years in connection with Säbener Straße. Especially during the search for a new center forward following Robert Lewandowski’s departure, the Serbian was repeatedly mentioned as a possible candidate.
Bayern rumors about Vlahovic have surfaced time and again
Such rumors persisted even later on. After all, Vlahovic had an attractive profile: The 1.90-meter-tall forward has plenty of experience in Serie A and, following the expiration of his contract with Juventus, was also available on the market on a free transfer.
However, according to the latest information, no serious talks took place between Bayern and Vlahovic. The Munich club continues to rely fully on Harry Kane in attack. The Englishman is not only the clear first-choice center forward but is even expected to extend his contract with the German record champions ahead of schedule.

Instead, Vlahovic is set to continue his career in Turkey. Despite the transfer being on a free transfer, Besiktas is apparently investing considerable sums in the deal. According to information from Transfermarkt, the Serbian is set to earn eight million euros net per season in Istanbul. In addition, there are reports of a signing fee of ten million euros.
At his new club, the forward will also be reunited with coach Vincenzo Italiano, with whom he previously enjoyed a successful stint at AC Florence. Under Italiano, Vlahovic played a total of 24 matches between July 2021 and January 2022, scoring 20 goals.
The striker then moved to Juventus for more than 80 million euros. There, he recorded 68 goals and 16 assists in 168 competitive matches. However, his high salary and recurring injury problems were among the reasons why his contract in Turin was ultimately not renewed.
