Ismael Saibari’s transfer to FC Bayern is on the verge of being finalized. However, there is now new information regarding the process.
Actually, the process seemed to be already clear. Following the agreement between FC Bayern and PSV Eindhoven, Ismael Saibari was supposed to undergo his medical examination during the ongoing World Cup in the U.S. However, this very plan could now change once again.
As Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg reports, internal discussions are currently underway regarding when and how the medical exam should be conducted. “Behind the scenes, they are now organizing and discussing how the medical exam will be carried out—either during the World Cup or only after it,” said Plettenberg.
This statement is quite surprising. In recent days, there had been consistent reports that the Munich club wanted to conduct the examination in the U.S. as soon as possible. After all, Saibari is currently in the U.S. with the Moroccan national team for the World Cup.
Bayern’s team doctor, Dr. Jochen Hahne, is also currently in the U.S., as he is treating the German national team during the tournament. Accordingly, conducting the examination on-site seemed to be the most obvious solution.
Two more steps until Saibari’s transfer is complete
However, this new development does not change the basic status of the transfer. According to the latest reports, FC Bayern and PSV Eindhoven have already agreed on a deal.
According to De Telegraaf, Munich will pay a fixed transfer fee of 50 million euros. On top of that, there are an additional five million euros in bonus payments that are relatively easy to achieve. Furthermore, Eindhoven is said to have secured a share of any future resale proceeds.
An agreement has also long been reached with the player. Saibari is set to sign a contract with FC Bayern running through the summer of 2031, thereby committing him to the German champions for the long term.
Only the final formalities remain to be completed. These include the signing of the contract and the medical examination.

It is precisely on this point that flexibility now appears to be required once again. Should Morocco advance far in the World Cup or should organizational issues come into play, the medical exam could apparently take place only after the tournament.
For Bayern, this would be a minor change of plans, but not a cause for concern. An agreement between all parties is already in place, and those in charge are now working to ensure the final steps go as smoothly as possible.
Much therefore continues to suggest that Saibari will be officially presented as a Bayern player in the near future. The only question remaining at this point seems to be exactly when the medical exam will take place.
