After Uli Hoeneß publicly criticised him, FC Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel hit back in an interview. According to a report, the coach also vented his anger internally.

The public criticism from Bayern’s honorary president Uli Hoeneß has apparently made coach Thomas Tuchel quite angry. After learning of Hoeneß‘ statements on Saturday morning, the FCB coach is said to have been furious, according to Sport BILD.

The 50-year-old vented his anger internally, according to the report. According to the report, Tuchel only learnt of the Bayern patriarch’s attack on him a day later.

The coach was then unable to stop himself from expressing his anger publicly.

Tuchel felt his „coaching honour“ had been violated

Hoeneß had accused Tuchel on Friday of not being able or willing to improve young players in the FCB squad, but instead quickly calling for new players as soon as difficulties arose.

At an event organised by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, he said of the coach: „He has a different attitude. He doesn’t think he can improve a Davies, Pavlovic or Musiala. If it doesn’t work out, you should buy someone else.“

Hoeneß made it clear that he himself has a different view to the one he is imputing to the coach: „I think you should work hard on them and give them self-confidence.“

Tuchel verbally countered this before the match against Eintracht: „That’s so far off the mark, I don’t even know how to respond.“

The Champions League winner with Chelsea FC went on to say: „I’m offended in my coaching honour. If we’ve proved anything over the last 15 years, it’s that players from the academy always have a place with us if they perform.“
