FC Bayern may choose not to make any new signings during the winter transfer window. Although the Munich team has failed to win its last two games in a row and has revealed some weaknesses, sporting director Max Eberl currently sees no need to strengthen the roster in January. In an interview with Sky, the 53-year-old made it clear that he has great confidence in the existing team.
“We are absolutely satisfied with the roster, absolutely satisfied with the players. I see no reason why we should take any action in January,” Eberl explained.
While the Bayern boss did not definitively rule out possible winter transfers, he made it clear that the Munich club currently has no specific need for reinforcements.
Eberl is banking on the potential of the Bayern squad
For Eberl, the current team is still far from reaching its full potential. While some players are already performing at the highest level, the sporting director sees significant room for growth in other players. “We have players who are currently at their peak and others who haven’t reached their peak yet,” Eberl emphasized.
For the 53-year-old, that is precisely the key point. Instead of signing additional players in the winter, the existing players should continue to improve their performance. “If everyone reaches their peak and we go on a winning streak, then I see no reason why we should do anything d [im Januar].”
These statements show that Bayern’s leadership remains convinced of the path they’ve chosen.
Bayern must first get back on the winning track

However, the past two competitive matches went anything but smoothly. Following the 2-2 draw against FC Augsburg , Munich could not manage better than a 3-3 draw against Viking Stavanger in the Champions League.
Their defensive vulnerabilities, in particular, drew criticism. Conceding five goals in two games falls short of the standards expected of Germany’s record champions.
Nevertheless, club officials apparently see no immediate need for action in the transfer market.
In addition, head coach Vincent Kompany currently cannot call upon his full squad. Among others, Jamal Musiala remains sidelined due to injury. His return could add extra quality to the offense.
Whether Munich will actually manage without winter transfers will likely also depend on how the team performs in the coming weeks.
Several tough opponents—including RB Leipzig, Arsenal, and Borussia Dortmund—await Bayern.
Should new personnel issues or major weaknesses emerge during these matches, transfer plans could be reevaluated.
As things stand, however, Eberl’s message is clear: FC Bayern has confidence in its roster and sees no reason to be active in the transfer market in January.
