FC Bayern is on the verge of extending Harry Kane’s contract. After weeks of negotiations, the Munich club and the top English striker have apparently reached a decisive agreement. Bayern also has specific plans regarding the timeline for signing the contract.
As BILD soccer editor Christian Falk reported on the “Bayern Insider” podcast, both sides have now agreed on the term of the new contract. “I’ve heard that there is indeed now an agreement on the main sticking point—the contract term,” Falk said.
The transfer insider then became even more explicit: “Bayern and Kane have agreed on a contract through 2029.” The 33-year-old’s current contract runs through the summer of 2027. This would mean Kane would remain with the German record champions for two more years.
Bayern plans to announce Kane’s contract extension before the Ballon d’Or

According to information from Falk, only the final contractual details need to be ironed out. “Now it’s just a matter of details,” the reporter explained. The focus is reportedly on image and marketing rights in particular.
CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen is playing a central role in the negotiations. He had already brought Kane from Tottenham Hotspur to Munich in 2023 and is also leading the current talks.
Particularly interesting: Bayern apparently has a concrete timeline for the contract extension. “They want to finalize the contract before the Ballon d’Or ceremony,” Falk revealed. The awards ceremony takes place on October 26.
“They’ve really come to a very, very fair agreement.”
BILD reporter Julian Agardi sees the impending agreement as a major success for the Munich club. “Bayern have essentially gotten exactly what they wanted from the very beginning,” he explained, referring to the contract term running through 2029.
Particularly noteworthy is the good relationship between the club officials and Kane’s camp. According to Agardi, the talks have been harmonious and constructive from the start. Furthermore, the striker did not try to exploit interest from other clubs to secure better terms.
“They really came to an agreement in a very, very fair manner,” Agardi emphasized. This makes it all the more gratifying that the contract extension now appears to be nearing completion.
An official confirmation from FC Bayern is still pending. Sporting Director Max Eberl recently emphasized that while talks are going well, there is still no definitive breakthrough to announce.
