Michael Olise had a bitter Champions League night during FC Bayern’s 3-3 draw against Viking Stavanger. The Frenchman was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for an unnecessary foul, thereby contributing to Munich’s late loss of a point. After the final whistle, however, the star forward showed a completely different side of himself.
While disappointment ran high among the German record champions, Olise took time out before the team bus departed to greet the Bayern fans who had traveled with the team.
A video on X shows the 24-year-old in front of the team bus interacting with the waiting fans.
Olise Shows Fan-Friendly Attitude After Being Sent Off
The footage shows Olise pausing to speak with the fans instead of getting on the team bus right away. It was a nice gesture after an evening in which the Frenchman had made negative headlines on the field.
In the second half, Olise let himself be provoked by Viking captain Zlatko Tripic and threw the ball at his opponent’s face. Since he had already been cautioned, the Bayern star received a yellow-red card.

At that point, Munich was leading 3–2. Down a man, they conceded the equalizer in stoppage time.
Kompany sharply criticized Olise
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany had some strong words for his forward after the game. “It was a bit of overconfidence. And the red card was, of course, incredibly stupid,” the Belgian explained on Amazon Prime Video.
Kompany also revealed that he had already spoken with Olise. “I told him, ‘Today, the No. 10 was smarter than you,’” said the Bayern coach.
The red card also has sporting consequences: Olise will be suspended for the upcoming Champions League match against Arsenal FC.
With his gesture toward the fans, the Frenchman at least provided a positive moment off the field following the disappointing performance in Stavanger.
