Harry Kane has long since found his sporting home at FC Bayern. But even off the soccer field, the England national team captain now feels right at home in Munich. In an interview with UEFA, the 33-year-old offered personal insights into his daily life and revealed what he particularly appreciates about living in the Bavarian capital.
Since his move from Tottenham Hotspur to FC Bayern in the summer of 2023, Kane has been living in Munich with his family. While the striker regularly makes headlines on the field, in his private life he especially enjoys spending time with his wife and children.
It seems the Englishman has also taken a liking to Bavarian cuisine. When asked about the best parts of life in Munich, Kane initially had a rather surprising answer.
“I get schnitzel sent to me every week.”
“The schnitzel! I get schnitzel sent to me every week, so I have no choice but to eat it,” the Bayern star explained with a wink.
But it’s not just the culinary specialties that have won over the 33-year-old. Above all, the quality of life and the numerous recreational opportunities delight the forward. “I really feel at home here. I think life here in Munich takes place very much outdoors,” Kane emphasized.
Spending time with his family plays a particularly important role for the Englishman. “I do spend a lot of time at home, but whether it’s walking the dog… My oldest daughter loves to ride horses, so I go with her to the riding stable. Or I play soccer with the others at the local field,” the striker reported.
It seems that the world-class striker’s daily life away from the training grounds isn’t all that different from that of many other families.
Bayern Star Enjoys the Nature Around Munich

Kane has also come to appreciate Munich’s location and its proximity to the Alps. Especially in winter, there are plenty of opportunities for his family to spend their free time outside the city.
“And in the winter, we might head to the mountains more often—to go skiing. I don’t do it that much myself—my wife takes the kids,” the Englishman revealed.
So while Kane tends to hold back when it comes to skiing, his family takes full advantage of the region’s winter recreational activities.
In the summer, however, the Bayern star is particularly drawn to the numerous lakes around Munich. “But I think you just have a little bit of everything here. In the summer, there are the lakes—Lake Tegernsee and Lake Starnberg,” Kane gushed.
For the father of four, one thing is paramount: spending as much time as possible with his children. “I like being outdoors, and I think it’s great for the kids, too, so I just try to do as many activities with them as possible,” explained the Bayern pro.
These personal insights show that Kane has settled in perfectly in Munich, not only on the field but also in his personal life.
That’s likely to please the FC Bayern brass as well. After all, the Munich club wants to keep its star striker at the club beyond his current contract, which runs through 2027. Negotiations are in the final stages.
The fact that the Englishman feels so at home with his family in the Bavarian capital certainly plays a role in the negotiations regarding his athletic future.
