With Bayern already leading 7–0, Union’s official X account chimed in and took aim at Lamine Yamal, of all people.

The post quickly went viral. Within a short time, it garnered more than one million views and tens of thousands of likes. Even FC Bayern responded to it with nothing more than a laughing emoji.

The Barcelona star recently stated that, in his opinion, neither the number of goals nor the titles won should automatically determine who is named the best player in the world.
“I think the Ballon d’Or should go to the best player in the world, period. Not to a player who scored 80 goals, because if you score 80 goals, you get the ‘top scorer’ award for that. Those are two very different things that people don’t understand,” Yamal explained.
The 19-year-old didn’t name any specific players. However, given Harry Kane’s extraordinary goal-scoring rate, his comments were also interpreted as a possible dig at the Bayern striker.
Kane and Olise deliver the perfect response
On the very evening these discussions took place, Kane and Michael Olise really turned it on against Union.
Kane scored a brace and broke a historic milestone in the process. His penalty kick to make it 2-0 was already his 100th Bundesliga goal. The Englishman needed just 98 appearances to reach that mark, setting a new record. Goal number 101 followed shortly afterward.
The evening was even more spectacular for Olise. The Frenchman scored the first hat trick of his club career, set up another goal, and also drew the penalty that Kane converted.
Ironically, it was the opposing team that subsequently praised the two Bayern stars as “Ballon d’Or material.”
The fact that Union still had the sense of humor to make such a post after conceding seven goals certainly went over well online. And FC Bayern’s reaction showed that even the record champions could laugh at the unusual dig aimed at Yamal.
