According to the leak, the jersey is expected to be significantly more traditional than initially anticipated. Previous reports had suggested that the jersey might also feature the color purple.
However, it appears they have moved away from that idea. Instead of purple elements, Adidas is apparently opting for a darker shade of red. The new home jersey is said to be predominantly in the color “Active Maroon.” This is a shade of red that is slightly darker than the classic, bright Bayern red and has a slight hint of burgundy.
A pattern is also intended to make the jersey a real eye-catcher. According to the report, the entire jersey will feature a distinctive diamond pattern. With this, Adidas is incorporating an element closely tied to Bavarian tradition that is also found in the club’s crest.
However, this design principle isn’t entirely new for the record champions. Diamonds have already appeared on previous Bayern jerseys, including during the 2019–20 season. The pattern was also particularly prominent on the home jersey for the 2013–14 season.
Purple is a Surprise
The most interesting aspect is the shift in color scheme. Just a few months ago, Footy Headlines had reported that the 2027–28 Bayern home jersey might feature purple accents for the first time. That information has now been corrected.
According to the report, the purple-and-red design will indeed be released—but not as a first-team jersey. Instead, the colorway is apparently intended exclusively for a children’s collection.
This suggests that Adidas will once again draw more heavily on the club’s traditional colors for the pro jersey. For Bayern fans, who haven’t always been happy with experimental designs lately, this could very well be good news.

However, if the current information proves to be accurate, Bayern fans can expect a relatively classic home jersey in 2027: a darker red, a striking diamond pattern, and no purple accents on the first-team jerseys.
