Things could still shake up at FC Bayern as the transfer window draws to a close—especially on the outgoing front. The record champions will try to offload several more players. One impending departure, however, comes as quite a surprise.
Bryan Zaragoza and Joao Palhinha are set to leave, though this has already been hinted at in recent days. Palhinha is being sold to Benfica; only the details remain to be worked out. As for Zaragoza, it looks like a loan deal with an obligation to buy to Espanyol will be finalized shortly.
But now it appears a forward is also being let go—and one of the young talents, at that.
Wisdom Mike set to leave Bayern
The player in question is Wisdom Mike. According to Sacha Tavolieri, the talented young player—who has recently been sidelined by a long-term injury—is set to join Club Brugge in Belgium.
The winger could move to Belgium very soon. He is said to have already passed his physical today, Monday. Bayern is expected to receive a transfer fee of around five million euros. Mike has been and continues to be highly regarded within the club, but other young players on the offensive side have recently been able to take a step forward.
It is unclear whether the record champion has secured a buyback option for the future. While this has often been the case with transfers in recent years, the Tavolieri report does not mention it.
The plan for the young player is for him to immediately play a role in the Belgian club’s first team as part of the rotation. The Belgian league is attack-oriented, and it is not uncommon for young players to be given opportunities there.
The 17-year-old still had a contract with FC Bayern through the summer of 2027. Until recently, a transfer had not been on the horizon, but the Belgian club has now applied pressure and reached an agreement with both Bayern and the player.
