FC Bayern continues to move forward with its plans for the future. The Munich club has now officially confirmed the contract extension with Cassiano Kiala. This means the talented center back will remain with the record champions for the long term.
FC Bayern has signed a long-term contract extension with German junior national team player Cassiano Kiala. The 17-year-old is considered one of the greatest talents to come out of the German record champion’s youth academy. With this contract extension, Bayern is sending a clear signal and intends to gradually introduce Kiala to the professional ranks.
In December 2025, at the age of 16, he made his Bundesliga debut in a 4-0 victory over Heidenheim. During the current preseason, he was part of Vincent Kompany’s expanded professional squad. In the future, he is set to be further integrated into the professional ranks.
Bayern secures promising defensive talent
Christoph Freund also confirmed this: “We have high hopes for Cassiano and want to gradually integrate him into our first team.”
„He is the second-youngest player to make his debut in the history of FC Bayern’s professional team, has already taken on responsibility as captain of the German U17 national team, and has everything it takes to make his mark at FC Bayern. He had some bad luck with injuries last season—now we’re looking forward to the next steps with him,” Freund added.
Competition from Abroad
It comes as no surprise that FC Bayern wanted to secure the long-term future of this talented player. Kiala is said to have been on the radar of top international clubs as well.

Among other things, there were reports of interest from England. It was therefore important for the Munich club to clarify the future of their partnership early on.
With the contract extension now officially confirmed, Bayern has achieved exactly that. Kiala is set to be a long-term part of Munich’s future.
