Michael Olise’s future remains one of the dominant topics at FC Bayern. While Real Madrid apparently continues to view the French national team player as a top transfer target, resistance to a possible transfer is mounting within the Munich squad. Kylian Mbappé, in particular, is said to be actively trying to persuade his compatriot to stay.
Michael Olise has taken a vacation following the World Cup. The 24-year-old is enjoying a few weeks off, but speculation about his future shows no signs of abating. According to L’Équipe , the forward reportedly told several French national team players during the World Cup that he wanted to transfer to Real Madrid this summer.
Olise has not yet commented publicly on the ongoing rumors. Nor have any concrete talks about an early contract extension with FC Bayern come to light so far.
Mbappé is applying pressure—Bayern is holding its ground
As reported by the Abendzeitung München, Kylian Mbappé in particular is one of the biggest advocates of a move. The Real Madrid superstar is said to be trying to convince his national teammate to play alongside him for Los Blancos in the future.
According to the report, Mbappé sees Olise as an ideal addition to the offense. At the same time, it is said that the World Cup champion does not fully gel with Jude Bellingham on the field, and that Olise could bring a different dynamic to the team’s attacking play.
At FC Bayern, however, the club is taking a relaxed approach to the situation. Club president Herbert Hainer had already made it unmistakably clear in an interview at the end of June: “Michael Olise is an FC Bayern Munich player who still has a long contract—and we are not a club that sells players.” He added: “If Florentino Pérez wants to send us an offer—which hasn’t happened yet—he can save himself the trouble.”
Musiala and Upamecano are vying for Olise

Olise is also said to enjoy strong support within the Bayern locker room. According to the Abendzeitung München, Dayot Upamecano, Jamal Musiala, and Alphonso Davies are among the Frenchman’s closest confidants. His relationship with Harry Kane and coach Vincent Kompany is also considered excellent.
Upamecano, in particular, made no secret of his desire during the World Cup to see the attacking star remain by his side in the future. “He’s staying, he’s staying!” the French center-back declared at the time, referring to the transfer rumors.
Despite continued interest from Madrid, there are currently still no signs that FC Bayern will back down from its clear stance. The Munich club is making long-term plans with Olise, whose contract runs through 2029. Whether Real Madrid will nevertheless make another attempt is likely to depend largely on the signals the Frenchman himself sends after returning from vacation.
