There’s no doubt that Michael Olise is currently one of the best players in the world. It’s no wonder there are constant rumors surrounding him and a possible move to Real Madrid. A former Bayern Munich pro has now weighed in on the attacking star’s future.
That person is Valerien Ismael, who played for the record-holding champions from 2005 to 2008. In a recent interview with ran, he spoke, among other things, about Olise, with whom Bayern Munich would like to extend his contract early.
At the World Cup, the attacking player once again demonstrated his class. He played at a very high level and was particularly crucial as a playmaker and assist provider.
Ismael: Bayern “knows the importance” of Olise
For Ismael, it’s clear that the French have a very good chance of ultimately winning the title. “I expect the winner of this match to become world champion. Looking at the entire World Cup, these are the two teams that have dominated everything and been very consistent,” said the former defender ahead of France’s match against Spain today, Tuesday, at 9 p.m.
Olise’s performances—and especially his excellent chemistry with Kylian Mbappé—have reignited Real Madrid’s interest, at least in the media. Although there has recently been talk of an agreement between the two clubs and that Real knows a transfer won’t happen this summer, the topic continues to simmer.
During the interview, Ismael was asked whether FC Bayern can keep the superstar in the long term. And he had a very clear opinion on the matter.
“If any club in Germany can keep a player like that, it’s Bayern Munich. Dortmund, Leipzig, or other good clubs aren’t in a position to keep players like that,” Ismael explained.
He continued: “Bayern knows how important Olise is and won’t just let one of its key players go. A player like that is now worth 150 million euros on the market. That’s why I’m convinced he won’t leave Bayern.”
