Today, Tuesday , the record champions announced what had already been hinted at in recent days: FC Bayern continues to count on Arijon Ibrahimovic, who was on loan to 1. FC Heidenheim last season.
“Arijon joined FC Bayern when he was just twelve years old and has made his way step by step through our academy and targeted loan stints. Especially during his very successful year in Heidenheim, he learned a great deal personally, which has prepared him for FC Bayern,” explained sporting director Christoph Freund.
He continued: “His development is a prime example of the opportunities we provide for our young talents. For him, it’s no longer just about learning—now it’s about making an impact, here at FC Bayern.”
Ibrahimovic is expected to improve the team’s options on offense
Arijon Ibrahimović moved from 1. FC Nürnberg to FC Bayern’s youth academy at the age of twelve; most recently, he was on loan not only to Heidenheim but also, previously, to Frosinone and Lazio.
Above all, his time fighting relegation with FCH had a huge impact on him and helped him mature.
There have been several recent reports that the attacking player’s contract will be extended through 2028. However, the press release now states: “The contract of the 20-year-old, who has been with the German champions since 2018, is dated until June 30, 2028.” There is no mention of an extension here.
