Harry Kane remains one of the most important topics for the future at FC Bayern. The Munich club wants to extend the contract of its top scorer, but an agreement has not been reached before the World Cup. This is now apparently drawing the interest of several top international clubs.
FC Bayern officials had actually hoped to finalize the contract extension with Harry Kane before the World Cup began. That won’t happen for now.
The captain of the English national team is currently fully focused on the tournament in North America. Contract talks are not a priority for the 32-year-old during the World Cup.
It is precisely this situation that is now apparently stirring up activity on the international transfer market.
Top clubs are watching the Kane saga
As reported by kicker, several financially strong clubs are closely monitoring developments surrounding Kane. According to the report, the first clubs have already made contact with the striker’s management and expressed their interest.
The reasoning is clear: as long as a contract extension hasn’t been signed, there is at least a theoretical hope of convincing the English superstar to make a move after all.
Of particular interest to potential suitors is the fact that, according to kicker, there are reportedly still differing views regarding the duration and financial terms of a new contract.
Nevertheless, from FC Bayern’s perspective, there is currently no reason to panic. Kane still has a contract in Munich through 2027 and did not activate his buyout clause last winter. This means Bayern remains in full control of the situation. A transfer this summer would only be possible with the express consent of the record champions.
At Säbener Straße, Kane is still considered an indispensable part of Vincent Kompany’s team. Following his outstanding season, there are no plans whatsoever to consider a sale.
Kane is entering the final year of his major contract

Nevertheless, the starting point for the upcoming negotiations is quite challenging. At 32, Kane finds himself in an exceptionally strong position. The Englishman is likely playing the best phase of his career, remains one of the world’s best strikers, and will in all likelihood sign his next contract as the final major deal of his career.
On top of that, he is already one of the highest earners at FC Bayern.
According to information from Sport BILD, an extension is therefore unlikely to be a cheap undertaking. Rather, it is expected that Kane will take his strong sporting position into account during the negotiations.
It will be particularly interesting to see what role the World Cup plays. Should Kane lead England deep into the tournament and once again be among the standout players, his negotiating position would be further strengthened. At the same time, interest from other top clubs could increase.
For FC Bayern, however, the plan remains unchanged: The Munich club wants to keep Kane long-term and intensify talks after the tournament. Club officials remain optimistic that an agreement will ultimately be reached.
Until then, however, the rumors are unlikely to die down. On the contrary: the longer the signing is delayed, the more clubs will sense an opportunity.
