Harry Kane has once again made Bundesliga history. The FC Bayern striker secured the top scorer’s crown for the third time in a row – and set a historic record in the process
Harry Kane remains the measure of all things in the Bundesliga. The FC Bayern attacker was once again crowned top scorer in the 2025/26 season, thereby setting a new record in the history of the German top flight
The 32-year-old scored a total of 36 goals this season, putting him comfortably at the top of the goalscoring charts. On the final matchday, Kane even added another treble in a 5-1 win against 1. FC Köln, impressively underlining his exceptional position
A first: Kane is the first player ever to be top scorer in each of his first three Bundesliga seasons
The Englishman also scored 36 goals in his debut season in 2023/24. Last season, 26 goals were enough for him to claim the top scorer’s crown. His record since moving to FC Bayern is spectacular anyway: Kane has now scored an incredible 98 goals in just 93 Bundesliga games
Kane clearly leaves the competition behind
In the race for the top scorer’s crown, the England captain once again gave his rivals no chance
Second place went to international Deniz Undav from VfB Stuttgart with 19 goals. Kane could face his closest rival again in the DFB Cup final in a week’s time. He was followed by Serhou Guirassy from Borussia Dortmund with 17 goals and Patrik Schick from Bayer Leverkusen with 16 goals
Two other Bayern stars also made it into the top five: Luis Diaz and Michael Olise both scored 15 goals for the season
At one point, Kane even looked set to seriously challenge Robert Lewandowski’s Bundesliga record, with the former Bayern striker scoring a historic 41 goals in the 2020/21 season
Due to the intense workload in the Champions League against Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, however, Kane was deliberately spared by Vincent Kompany in some Bundesliga matches
Will Kane now attack Lewandowski’s next record?
Another record by Robert Lewandowski could nevertheless become increasingly interesting for Kane
The Pole won the top scorer’s crown five times in a row between 2018 and 2022 – the best record in the Bundesliga to date
Should Kane extend his contract at FC Bayern, the Englishman could indeed challenge this record in the coming years.
