An incident last weekend has caused a stir in the Munich fan scene. According to a report in the Süddeutsche Zeitung, an FC Bayern fan representative was allegedly attacked by supporters of TSV 1860 Munich
According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the 54-year-old FC Bayern employee and his wife were picked up and attacked on Sunday evening after the Munich team’s basketball match against Oldenburg
According to the police report, five men around 20 years old, wearing blue tube scarves, attacked the Bayern fan. The target of the attack is said to have been the well-known „Red Munichs“ fence flag
According to the report, the fan representative was kicked and a person who tried to help was allegedly pushed into traffic on the Mittlerer Ring
The Bayern employee is said to be fine under the circumstances
Background apparently conflict between fan camps
According to information from both fan camps, the attack is apparently seen as retaliation for an earlier incident, according to which Bayern fans tried to steal the fence flag of the 1860 Ultra group „Blue Vikings“ a few weeks ago
As the SZ reports, an 1860 fan was attacked in the process, although the flag was not in his possession
Fence flags are extremely important in the Ultras scene and their loss is regarded internally as a particularly serious defeat
For this reason, there is now apparently growing concern about a further escalation between the two fan camps – especially in the event that the stolen „Red Munichs“ flag is publicly displayed at 1860 Munich matches in future
Great concern about further escalation
According to the report, the fan representative who was attacked is one of the best-known „all-rounders“ in Germany. The Bayern supporter has accompanied the record champions to almost all home and away matches for years – even in the youth section
Back in 2019, his „Red Munichs“ fence flag was damaged during an FC Bayern U19 match at Olympiakos Piraeus. However, there have been no national incidents of this kind to date

As the Süddeutsche Zeitung further reports, there are now appeals for de-escalation from both fan camps
Many long-time supporters apparently fear that the spiral of violence between Bayern and 1860 fans could escalate further, following several incidents in recent years, including a mass brawl in 2023 that left numerous people injured
According to the report, there have also been an increasing number of reports that individual fans have been deliberately ambushed. Personal details such as addresses and car registration numbers are also said to be circulating within hostile groups.
