FC Bayern are apparently still on the lookout for reinforcements in midfield, with a talent from the Bundesliga once again coming into focus.
FC Bayern are apparently looking at Assan Ouédraogo again. According to fussballdaten.de, the Munich club are keeping a close eye on the 19-year-old’s development and are said to be among the clubs looking at a possible transfer.
The central midfielder moved from FC Schalke 04 to RB Leipzig in the summer of 2024. The German record champions were already rumoured to be interested at the time, but Ouédraogo ultimately opted for the Saxons. The youngster signed a long-term contract in Leipzig until 2029.
According to the report, several top international clubs are monitoring the international’s situation. Manchester United, Newcastle United, Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC are said to still have Ouédraogo on their radar. Real Madrid and Juventus Turin are also mentioned as interested parties.
Bayern apparently want to prevent a move abroad
FC Bayern’s main aim is to prevent one of Germany’s biggest midfield talents from moving abroad. According to the report, Munich could use their good relations with RB Leipzig to reach an agreement in a potential deal.
However, Leipzig are not necessarily planning a quick sale. The Saxons are said to want to keep the injury-prone shooting star for another season. At the same time, RB are said to be willing to discuss an offer in the region of 45 to 50 million euros.
Ouédraogo has been struggling with knee problems since the beginning of the year. Knee problems set him back in his first season at RB Leipzig, but he initially came back into focus in the current season. The midfielder even made his debut for the German senior national team in November, before being ruled out again shortly afterwards. Ouédraogo played his last competitive match in mid-January and is expected to make his comeback in the final stages of the season.
