It is clear that Leon Goretzka will leave FC Bayern in the summer after a successful time together. The midfielder has now looked back on his time in Munich and waxed lyrical
Goretzka will then start a new chapter in his career in the summer, although it is still unclear at this stage where that will be. The international wants to take his time to make the right decision rather than a quick one
Clubs such as Milan, Newcastle, Napoli and Inter are in the running, although Milan currently have an advantage due to their contract structure. In any case, Goretzka looks back on his years in Munich with a little nostalgia because that time will soon be over
Goretzka: „Felt at home from day one“
In an interview with the club’s own magazine Säbener 51, the midfield star explained: „I had a wonderful, intense and special time here. I’m grateful for that. From the outside, you can’t imagine how warm the changing room is. The competition for places is incredibly tough, a lot is demanded of you – but at the same time, I felt comfortable from day one. I’m grateful for that.“

Goretzka also spoke about the special ‚Mia san mia‘ feeling: „To be honest, I never really understood what the ‚Mia san mia‘ actually is. But as soon as I got here, it happened relatively quickly. Thanks to players like Thomas Müller and Arjen Robben, who always exemplified it. The ‚Mia san mia‘ spirit must be preserved, the torch must always be passed on.“
The Bayern star, who is free to leave the club in the summer, also emphasised once again that he was particularly impressed by the family side of the club: „Yes, it’s incredibly competitive, a lot is demanded of you – but at the same time I felt at home from day one. I was at home at FC Bayern, I made friends. The fact that you can play for the biggest titles in soccer in such a family environment, this mixture is very special.“
