FC Bayern continue to press ahead with their plans for young talent, with one youngster apparently on the verge of signing a new contract with the record champions
The next contract extension is in the offing at FC Bayern. As reported by Sky, the Munich club are on the verge of extending David Santos Daiber’s contract on a long-term basis. Talks between the club and the player are said to be at an advanced stage
It would be the 19-year-old’s first professional contract with the German record champions. Santos Daiber has long been regarded as one of the most promising midfield talents on the Bayern campus
According to the report, the Portuguese U19 international has the clear goal of establishing himself at FC Bayern in the long term. At the same time, a loan deal is apparently a realistic scenario for his further development. In the short or medium term, the midfielder could gain match practice at another club in the summer
Santos Daiber has already gained professional experience
Santos Daiber has been playing for FC Bayern for many years. The midfielder moved to the Bayern campus from TSV Milbertshofen in 2016 and has since come through several of the club’s youth teams
So far this season, the 19-year-old has made 16 appearances for the U19s – both in the Youth League and in the DFB Youth League, scoring one goal in the process. He has also gained his first experience in the men’s game and has already made two appearances for Munich’s second team in the regional league
Santos Daiber has also had a taste of the Bundesliga with the professionals, making his debut in Germany’s top flight at the end of December in a 4-0 win against 1. FC Heidenheim. He also came on as a substitute in the 4-1 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach
Currently injured
However, the youngster currently has to take a break. Santos Daiber recently suffered a muscle injury in his thigh and is out for the time being

Despite this forced break, his development at FC Bayern remains highly regarded. Internally, the midfielder is valued above all for his intelligence and clean play in the center
The planned contract extension would therefore be a further signal of Munich’s long-term campus strategy. In the professional sector, Bayern recently extended Dayot Upamecano’s contract until 2030 after lengthy negotiations.
