Luis Diaz is to get a challenger on the left flank at FC Bayern, and now there is apparently a new top candidate
FC Bayern’s plans for the coming summer are taking shape – and one name is increasingly coming into focus: Yan Diomande. According to information from BILD, the 19-year-old winger from RB Leipzig is currently Munich’s top candidate for the left wing. The Bayern management around sports director Max Eberl is therefore convinced that the Ivorian has exactly the profile they are looking for
FC Bayern are looking to add to their left wing and provide serious competition for Luis Diaz in the future. According to the report, Diomande is currently at the top of the internal list in this role. The attacking player has developed from new signing to top performer in Leipzig in a very short space of time and is one of the biggest surprises of the current Bundesliga season. Six goals and three assists in 14 league games have also made an impression at Säbener Straße
Diomande at the top of Bayern’s list – El Mala still a candidate
From Bayern’s point of view, Diomande fits the bill perfectly. He has great pace, assertiveness in one-on-one situations, finishing power and remarkable physical robustness for his age. He is also seen as a player with the potential to develop and take the next step at the top level – exactly the mix Eberl and Co. are looking for for the next offensive upheaval
While Diomande is clearly favored internally, alternatives also remain on the radar. Saïd El Mala is still on Munich’s list and is being closely monitored
However, a potential deal with Leipzig would not be a foregone conclusion. Diomande has a contract until 2030 and there is no exit clause, meaning RB basically has the upper hand. Nevertheless, there is hope in Munich that a transfer is at least feasible in the long term. It was recently reported that Leipzig could be willing to discuss a transfer fee of around 60 to 70 million euros in the summer of 2026 – significantly less than the demands above the 100 million mark that have been rumoured in the meantime.
