Is Raphael Guerreiro leaving FC Bayern in the winter? The Portuguese international is apparently on the move
Raphael Guerreiro is likely to remain at FC Bayern beyond the winter break. According to Sky, there are many indications that the Portuguese veteran will continue to play for the Munich club in the second half of the season – a premature departure in January is apparently not an issue
According to the report, the signs are clearly pointing to Guerreiro staying. The 32-year-old is said to be firmly planned for the second half of the season. What’s more, according to the pay-TV broadcaster, it is not out of the question that the former BVB player will remain at Säbener Straße beyond the summer. Although his contract expires at the end of the season, talks about his future are still open
Over the past few weeks, there has been repeated speculation about a possible winter transfer for the 2016 European champion, with Juventus and Benfica Lisbon being mentioned as possible destinations. However, these rumours do not appear to be causing any unrest at Säbener Straße
Bayern officials praise Guerreiro
Sporting director Christoph Freund had already expressly praised Guerreiro at the end of October. „Raphael Guerreiro is doing really well – regardless of whether he plays at left-back or in the ten. He is simply a really strong footballer and we know exactly what we have in him,“ said Freund in an interview with Sky. However, he remained cautious with regard to the time after the season: „We will talk to him calmly in the coming weeks and months, but there is no final decision yet.“

Head coach Vincent Kompany also recently made it clear how important Guerreiro is to the squad. On the sidelines of the Champions League match against Sporting, the Belgian emphasized: „I have a great player, a fantastic professional. Someone who always helps the team, both today and at the weekend.“
