Fisnik Asllani has played his way into the limelight with strong performances for Hoffenheim and has also aroused the interest of FC Bayern. Now the striker himself has commented on the transfer rumors.
The 23-year-old has been the focus of several Bundesliga clubs for weeks. According to several media reports, FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund are among those interested in the TSG Hoffenheim attacker. In an exclusive interview with RTL/ntv and sport.de, Asllani responded to the speculation surrounding his future. „Of course you hear things like that,“ said the twelve-time Kosovo international. „Of course it honours me and makes me a bit proud when I read things like that.“
His contract at Hoffenheim runs until 2029 and apparently contains an exit clause that would allow him to move for between 25 and 29 million euros in the summer. However, Asllani is not currently thinking about changing clubs: „My focus is clearly on TSG Hoffenheim, on the upcoming games, the coming weeks and months,“ he emphasised. „That is the most important thing for me.“
Friend raves about Asslani
The media recently reported that both Bayern and BVB are keeping a close eye on the striker’s development. According to Sky, both clubs are in initial talks. Christoph Freund has already praised the 1.91-metre attacker: „A good player, scores a lot of goals, a clever lad who has developed very well. He has already been loaned out several times and is making very, very good progress.“
Nevertheless, the sporting director made it clear that there is currently no acute need for action in Munich: „I think he is a good, interesting young player who many people are now talking about. There are a number of lads who are developing well. But as I said, we are currently very happy with what we have and how we are set up.“
The name Asllani is also being discussed in Dortmund – according to Bild, he could be a possible successor to Serhou Guirassy. The attacker is currently impressing with six goals and three assists in 14 competitive games for Hoffenheim.
Asllani: „You’re already planning your career to some extent“
Despite his young age, the attacker is already thinking about his medium-term future. „Of course I’m also talking about the next few years with my family and very close friends. I’m not 18 anymore, so you’re already planning your career, your life to a certain extent. Where can you go? What do you want? You get to know yourself as a person and find out about yourself, what’s important to you, what your priorities are,“ he explained.
At the same time, Asllani emphasizes his down-to-earth attitude: „Basically, I’m a fan of sticking to the present and making the best of it. This then creates a good future.“
Regardless of his sporting career, his private life also plays a role for him: „A good life is also important. Of course, one also requires the other.“
