Italian international Federico Chiesa will apparently soon be available on the transfer market. This news will make FC Bayern in particular sit up and take notice, as the German record champions have been linked with the attacking player for some time.
According to the Italian sports newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Federico Chiesa has apparently decided not to extend his contract with Juventus. According to the report, Chiesa has decided against an extension and has now landed on the transfer market.
This development could be of interest to several top clubs in Europe, especially FC Bayern. AC Milan and Manchester United are also said to be interested in signing him.
Bayern have had Chiesa on their radar for years
Chiesa, who moved to Juventus from AC Florence in 2020, quickly took on the role of key player at the Old Lady and impressed with his agility and coolness. Last season, he scored nine goals in Serie A and set up three more.
Chiesa has also been a regular in the Italian national team for some time and has made 45 appearances since his debut in 2018. These performances have made him one of the most sought-after wingers in Europe.
According to Sport BILD, FC Bayern had already shown great interest in Chiesa in recent years. Former CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge already raved about Chiesa in 2021 and said: „He is a player for FC Bayern!“
Even after his cruciate ligament rupture in 2022, Chiesa was able to prove his dynamism once again and, according to several reports, was repeatedly on FC Bayern’s transfer list.
Transfermarkt.de currently estimates Chiesa’s market value at around €40 million. This sum could be a sensible investment for Bayern in view of the overdue reorganisation of the squad. One thing is clear: former top performers in the wing positions such as Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman failed to impress last season, mainly due to their susceptibility to injury.
