Désiré Doué from Stade Rennes is highly coveted in Europe. After several top clubs from England and the Bundesliga, FC Bayern is now also getting involved in the transfer poker for the 18-year-old Frenchman.
With his outstanding performances in Ligue 1, Désiré Doué has also attracted attention beyond the borders of France. After initially only Paris Saint-Germain and BVB were interested in him in the winter, several top Premier League clubs have now cast an eye over the attacking midfielder alongside FC Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen.

Who is Désiré Doué?
Désiré Doué has played for Stade Rennes since the age of five and is the next promising talent from the academy in the north-west of France after Eduardo Camavinga and Ousmane Dembélé. He was the first player born in 2005 to score a goal in Ligue 1 when he added the third in Rennes‘ 3-1 home win over Brest in August 2022.

One of his great strengths is ball carrying: in the 2023/24 season, he was among the one per cent of midfielders in the top 5 European leagues with the most progressive carries (4.4 per 90 minutes), according to fbref. Doué also has outstanding quality in one-on-one duels. In terms of successful dribbles, he was also among the top 1 per cent of midfielders in Europe’s top five leagues last season. He can be deployed flexibly and can play at the 10, as well as at the 8 and in the attacking half-spaces.
