The rumours about Alphonso Davies moving to Real Madrid persist. Should he actually leave FC Bayern, the club would have to transfer millions to Canada.

Alphonso Davies‘ former club, the Vancouver Whitecaps, are keeping a close eye on the transfer rumours surrounding their former shooting star. According to the news agency The Canadian Press, the Canadians are said to have negotiated a sell-on clause with FC Bayern in January 2019 when selling the left-back.

This information was confirmed by an unnamed spokesperson for the club. According to an anonymous player consultant who has no connection to Davies, the percentage of such a clause is between ten and 20 per cent of the sell-on value. according to an MLS boss, 30 per cent is „the upper end“.

Alphonso Davies tends towards Real Madrid transfer

The 23-year-old and his advisor have already let the decision deadline for the latest Bayern offer pass. Nick Huoseh, Davies‘ advisor, explained the decision in BILD: „It’s a very important contract in Alphonso’s career and we are supposed to make the decision – without knowing who the coach will be next season or what the team will look like. That’s why we think it’s unfair to react to the ultimatum and will decide at the end of the season how to proceed when there is more clarity“.

This is not the first hint in the direction of the Spanish capital. There have been rumours about a possible Davies transfer to the Whites for months. FC Bayern is apparently demanding a transfer fee of 50 million euros. However, according to the Spanish newspaper AS, Madrid are only prepared to put 25 to 30 million euros on the table. If Davies were to move to Real, FCB would have to pay between €2.5 million and a maximum of around €16 million to Vancouver, depending on the transfer fee.
