Since his time in Munich, Leroy Sané has been one of the most polarising players at FC Bayern. His great fluctuations in performance are usually the cause of much discussion on the Isar. When the German international plays to his full potential, he can make the difference in the game. However, the 27-year-old usually shows these performances too rarely. Despite the media hype surrounding him, Sané seems to feel at home in Munich and can well imagine staying with the German record holder beyond the summer of 2025.

Leroy Sané moved from Manchester City to FC Bayern in the summer of 2020 and was considered to be one of the first top transfers of sports director Hasan Salihamidzic. However, the attacking player has struggled with fluctuations in performance since his move to the German record champions, which has also caused concern at Säbener Straße in the past. Nevertheless, the 27-year-old can already look back on a thoroughly successful time at FC Bayern with over 70 goals in 124 competitive games.

Tuchel plays a decisive role with Sané

Leroy Sané has also struggled with fluctuations in performance this season. However, former coach Julian Nagelsmann always consistently backed his protégé and believed in his playing abilities. Under Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, things are looking similar at the moment. The new coach is a big fan of Sané and had confidence in the qualities of the DFB star in the first few games.

The German international is repaying this trust with consistently good performances, even if his goal-scoring has been lacking recently. In an interview with „SPORT1“, Sané also raved about his new coach: „So far, I have perceived him as a very communicative and highly motivated coach who wants to leave as little as possible to chance. In many areas, he also reminds me of working with Pep. It’s fun and I’m sure we’ll be very successful with him.“

First talks already in autumn?

After these statements about Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, Leroy Sané seems to feel quite comfortable in Munich at the moment. According to „kicker“ reporter Georg Holzner, the offensive player is definitely open to a contract extension at FC Bayern. Even though Sané’s current contract runs until the summer of 2025, the first talks about an extension could take place as early as next autumn.

Until then, however, the 27-year-old is determined to show consistent performances on the pitch in order to recommend himself for a contract extension beyond the summer of 2025.
