At 33, Harry Kane is far from done. The Bayern Munich forward remains in outstanding form and apparently has no intention of ending his career anytime soon. Quite the contrary: The Englishman can envision playing soccer at the highest level for many more years.
After his 125th international appearance for England, Kane spoke with the TV network ITV about his future. During the interview, the Bayern star made it clear that he doesn’t see himself anywhere near the end of his development.
“125 international appearances? I couldn’t have imagined that even in my wildest dreams. I hope there are more to come. Only time will tell,” the forward explained.
Kane: “I’m not going to stop”
Kane had already emphasized in the past that, when it comes to the length of his career, he looks to exceptional players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Luka Modric as role models. All three have shown that a career at the highest level is possible well beyond the traditional retirement age for soccer players.
His recent statements show that this is not just a theoretical consideration for Kane. The striker feels he has taken another step forward, both physically and athletically.
“I still feel like I can improve. At 32, I’ve just had my best season ever, and I actually feel even better in shape right now,” the Englishman emphasized.
His next statement, in particular, is likely to catch the attention of those in charge at FC Bayern: “I’m not going to stop. I’m going to keep giving it my all and see where that takes me.”
Kane is convinced that he hasn’t yet reached his personal peak. He left open just how long his career might actually last—but he did mention a remarkable timeframe.
Will Kane really keep playing past age 40?

“Maybe in about ten years we’ll see where the limit is,” the Bayern star explained.
In any case, there’s currently little reason for the forward to think about retiring anytime soon. Just in the 3-0 win over the Czech Republic, Kane played his 125th international match for England and scored two goals. With 91 goals to his name, he has long been the Three Lions’ all-time leading scorer.
His future at FC Bayern is also a major topic of discussion right now. His contract expires in the summer of 2027, and contract negotiations with the record champions are nearing completion. The club and the player have already reached a basic agreement on an extension.
Kane’s long-term career plans are likely to play a significant role in this decision. In any case, the Englishman makes it clear that his age is no reason for him to slow down. As long as his body holds up and his performance remains strong, he intends to keep going.
An early retirement is therefore apparently not on the table. Rather, Kane seems intent on finding out just how long he can actually play at a world-class level. If he has his way, the answer to that question could take a few more years to emerge.
