FC Bayern and Harry Kane are in talks about a contract extension. Both sides are optimistic about reaching an agreement—partly because FC Bayern is likely to make an exception in this case.
Kane has recently emphasized on several occasions how happy he is at the record-breaking champions. He also announced that the contract talks are notexpected to take much longer.

„I’m optimistic that they’ll find a good solution.“
That’s what Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, a member of Bayern’s supervisory board, explained in an interview with the Abendzeitung München. “In the past, I would have said: For players over 30, you should generally only offer one-year contracts. But there are exceptions when you’re convinced of a player’s quality. And that’s the case with Harry,” Rummenigge explained.
And in fact, Bayern has largely followed the practice of signing only short-term contracts with older players. This was exactly the approach taken with Franck Ribéry, Arjen Robben, and also Manuel Neuer toward the end of their careers.
What impresses Rummenigge is the player’s resilience. “We mustn’t forget: In three years, he was injured only once. I can remember it myself: When I had those three up front, I was already plagued by muscle problems.”
Fundamentally, Rummenigge also exudes a certain optimism regarding a timely agreement with the player. “Harry’s brother and his father are currently negotiating with Jan-Christian Dreesen. I’m optimistic that they’ll find a good solution,” he explained. After the international matches, the time may be right to finalize the crucial, remaining details.
