Harry Kane’s future at FC Bayern seems to be taking shape more and more clearly. Although the English superstar is still under contract through 2027, talks are already underway regarding an early contract extension. Max Eberl is extremely confident about the situation and emphasizes that both sides are very interested in continuing their partnership.
In an interview with Sky, Bayern’s sporting director spoke at length about the ongoing negotiations and painted a decidedly positive picture. There is apparently no sign of difficult talks or fundamental differences.
“The contract talks—I have to say quite honestly—have been incredibly harmonious, with an incredible sense of cooperation,” Eberl explained.
Above all, Kane’s attitude is likely to please the club’s leadership at Säbener Straße. The 32-year-old apparently continues to feel very much at home in Munich and can envision a long-term future with the record champions.
Eberl made this unmistakably clear. Speaking about Kane, he said: “A player who would very much like to stay, a club that would very much like to extend his contract.”
This suggests that the basic conditions for a contract extension are clearly in place.
Just “a few details to work out”
Despite the promising situation, however, no agreement has been reached yet and nothing has been signed. Bayern and the player still need to work out a few details.
“And of course, it’s still a matter of details that need to be worked out,” Eberl explained. The sporting director, however, sees no cause for concern.

On the contrary, according to Eberl, the talks are taking place in an extremely constructive atmosphere: “We have a very professional yet pleasant culture of dialogue,” emphasized the 52-year-old.
The “details” in question likely refer primarily to the contract term. While FC Bayern reportedly prefers a two-year extension through 2029, Kane is said to be seeking a contract through 2030. There are apparently no fundamental doubts about continuing the partnership—rather, the focus is on the exact terms of the new contract.
