Bad news for FC Bayern: The German record champions are facing three new injury setbacks. In addition to two youth players, the women’s team has also been hit. Stine Ballisager, in particular, will be out for an extended period of time.
As FC Bayern announced on Tuesday, Guido Della Rovere and Aristide Hentcho Nseke are unavailable for the time being.
Della Rovere has sustained a hand injury. The 18-year-old Italian is a member of Munich’s U23 team and is considered one of the most promising talents at the Bayern campus.
Hentcho Nseke, meanwhile, is sidelined by a thigh injury. The young player most recently played for the German record champions’ U19 team. Bayern did not initially specify exactly how long the two young talents will be out of action.
Ballisager will be out for several weeks for the Bayern women’s team
The diagnosis for Stine Ballisager is much more specific. The 32-year-old suffered a muscle injury in her right thigh during the Bayern Women’s Bundesliga opener against Union Berlin.
This was confirmed by examinations conducted by FC Bayern’s medical department. According to the club, the Danish national team player will be sidelined for several weeks.
Ballisager was in the starting lineup for the 4-1 away win against Union and started on the right side of the defense. After just over an hour, she had to be substituted due to injury.
This means the Bayern Women are facing a personnel setback early in the new season. Just a few days ago, it was also announced that Arianna Caruso had left the club effective immediately to join Real Madrid.
Bayern Women Get Off to a Successful Start Anyway
On the field, the Bundesliga opener went well for the Munich team. Klara Bühl put the German champions ahead with a direct free kick. Pernille Harder and Glodis Perla Viggosdottir added to the lead after halftime, before Nele Bauereisen pulled one back for Union. Sophia Proost sealed the 4-1 final score in stoppage time.
Despite the lopsided result, coach José Barcala still sees room for improvement: “We’re still a long way from where we want to be. But we’re aware of that and are working toward it.”
Next Monday, the Bayern women will play their first Bundesliga home game of the new season. At 6 p.m., the Munich team will host 1. FSV Mainz 05. Barcala will definitely have to do without Ballisager for that match.
