At FC Bayern, planning for the future continues at full speed. Now, it appears the next major personnel decision has been made: Cassiano Kiala is said to have extended his contract early.
According to a report in BILD, the 17-year-old center back was spotted Thursday morning on his way to Bayern’s offices, accompanied by his attorney Oliver Fischer and Joao Camacho, the right-hand man of star agent Jorge Mendes. According to the report, the contract has since been signed. Kiala is said to have received a new contract running through 2030.
For the record-holding champions, the extension is an important step. Kiala has been regarded as one of the greatest talents at the academy for years and was able to gain his first experience with the pros at a young age.
The Berlin native made his Bundesliga debut as early as December 2025 against 1. FC Heidenheim. At the time, Kiala was just 16 years old. During the current preseason as well, the defender was already part of Vincent Kompany’s expanded professional squad.
After suffering an ankle injury in February, Kiala is now fully fit again. In the recent friendly against Heidenheim, he even saw some playing time, spending about 20 minutes on the field.
There was international competition
It comes as no surprise that Bayern wants to secure the services of this defensive talent for the long term. Kiala was apparently also on the radar of several top international clubs, which reportedly didn’t exactly make the negotiations easy. Initial talks are said to have taken place as early as late 2025.
According to BILD, his father reportedly traveled to England, among other places, and met with representatives from Chelsea and Manchester City. In addition, it remained unclear for quite some time which agency would represent the young defender going forward. Ultimately, the decision was made in favor of Gestifute, Mendes’ agency.
The Munich club has thus apparently outmaneuvered some high-profile competitors. Particularly noteworthy: Kiala’s previous contract was set to run through 2027. With this early extension through 2030, Bayern Munich has now secured long-term planning stability.
Next step with the pros?
The new season could now be particularly interesting for Kiala. Since returning from injury, the youngster has already shown that he can hold his own at the pro level.

Kompany also seems to believe he has what it takes. Training with the first team gives Kiala the opportunity to prove himself and earn a regular spot in the lineup.
With the contract extension through 2030, FC Bayern is sending a clear message: Kiala is set to be a long-term part of Munich’s future.
