FC Bayern has invested more than 100 million euros in new players this summer. The Munich club hopes to recoup a large portion of that sum through player sales. The stated goal: around 90 million euros. Club officials have now apparently set specific asking prices for the three most prominent players on the trading block.
With Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown, FC Bayern has invested around 50 million euros each in two new key players. Added to that is 3.5 million euros for the permanent signing of Bara Sapoko Ndiaye. This means the German record champions have spent more than 100 million euros on this trio alone.
On the revenue side, therefore, there is still work to be done. As reported by BILD , Bayern has set an ambitious goal for this summer’s transfer window: to generate a total of around 90 million euros from player sales.
Just under 40 million euros of that amount has already been raised. Now, attention is focused primarily on João Palhinha, Sacha Boey, and Bryan Zaragoza. All three no longer play a role in Vincent Kompany’s sporting plans and are free to leave the club.
Bayern is asking for 30 million for Palhinha
As BILD soccer editor Christian Falk reports in the “Bayern-Insider” podcast, club officials have set clear asking prices for the trio. “Bayern wants to generate 90 million in transfer revenue. That’s why they’ve set strict transfer price limits: 8.5 million for Zaragoza, 15 million for Boey, and 30 million for Palhinha,” explains Falk.
In total, the Munich club hopes to bring in at least 53.5 million euros for the three players on the transfer list.
The record champions expect the biggest return from Palhinha. Bayern is reportedly asking for 30 million euros for the Portuguese player. The 31-year-old was signed from Fulham in 2024 for around 50 million euros but was unable to establish himself in Munich.
There are several interested clubs, including Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Benfica. The problem: So far, none of the clubs seem willing to meet Munich’s asking price.
The financial aspect had already proven to be an obstacle with Tottenham Hotspur. Palhinha was on loan to the Spurs last season; they held a purchase option but did not exercise it.
Boey and Zaragoza are also expected to bring in millions
According to BILD, Sacha Boey’s price tag is 15 million euros. The Frenchman joined Munich from Galatasaray in early 2024 for around 30 million euros but failed to live up to expectations due to numerous injuries and inconsistent performances.
The situation is even more difficult with Bryan Zaragoza. According to the report, Bayern would settle for 8.5 million euros for the Spaniard.
That would already be a significant loss. FCB had once paid around 17 million euros to FC Granada for Zaragoza. In Munich, however, the winger was never able to establish himself. Most recently, he is said to have even turned down a lucrative offer from a non-European country.
Especially in the cases of Boey and Zaragoza, concrete interest is currently limited. As a result, the Munich club is coming under increasing pressure as the transfer window progresses.
“Bayern will have to make some concessions. Of course, you can take a gamble. But there’s a risk that you might end up stuck with the players. You definitely don’t want that, because high salaries are also at stake,” explains BILD reporter Heiko Niedderer.
Just under 40 million is already in the coffers
However, sporting director Max Eberl isn’t starting his million-euro mission from scratch. Through numerous smaller sales, Bayern has already brought in just under 40 million euros.
Noel Aseko alone brought in 12 million euros. Munich received eight million euros for Daniel Peretz, and Alexander Nübel brought in 6.25 million euros. Added to that are six million euros each for Jonah Kusi-Asare and Jonathan Asp Jensen, as well as proceeds from the departures of Maurice Krattenmacher and Lovro Zvonarek.
This means that, above all, the sales of the three prominent candidates are still needed to reach the internally set goal.
If Bayern were to actually receive 30 million euros for Palhinha, 15 million for Boey, and 8.5 million for Zaragoza, the record champions would even slightly exceed their target of around 90 million euros.
However, that is precisely where the challenge lies. Bayern does not want to sell its transfer candidates below market value, yet at the same time, the three players absolutely must be removed from the payroll. The closer Deadline Day gets, the more difficult this balancing act could become for Eberl.
