FC Bayern is now entering the crucial phase of its preseason preparations. Many players who were recently injured or in the process of regaining fitness are now fully back in action. One young player who was sidelined for a long time is finally back in the mix as well.
That player is 17-year-old defender Cassiano Kiala. He is regarded as a major talent at FC Bayern, and many experts even believe he has the potential to secure a regular spot in the record champion’s starting lineup in a few years.
After all, Kiala has a lot to offer—he’s already physically strong, has good ball control, and displays excellent game intelligence. These are factors that are incredibly important even at a young age.
Kiala is finally back in training
Quite a few people even believe that Kiala and Filip Pavic (16) could be the record champions’ center backs of the future. However, the leap from the youth team to the pros is still one that must first be mastered.

But back to Kiala. He suffered a torn syndesmotic ligament during the Junior Algarve Cup in late February and had to sit out for months. Such a serious injury at a time when he was on the verge of making the jump to the pros was extremely disappointing.
Now, however, after a long rehabilitation period, he’s finally back and able to train with the team. The exact timeline for the defender’s return isn’t clear yet. In any case, he could find himself on the pro squad’s roster at some point during the new season.
For now, however, the priority is, on the one hand, not to rush things and, on the other hand, to slowly build up the necessary fitness again. Once that’s achieved, he can gradually be integrated back into match play. The fact that he’s even able to train with the team again is, in any case, already a major step forward.
