Another departure appears to be on the horizon at FC Bayern. A young player is set to leave the record champions on loan once again—a solution for the talented midfielder is apparently already in the works.
As reported by *kicker*, the squad planners at Säbener Straße are currently leaning toward sending homegrown player Felipe Chavez out on loan once again. Another loan deal is reportedly being considered—a model the attacking midfielder is already familiar with from the current season.
The background: It doesn’t look like Chavez will see much playing time in the first-team squad. The 19-year-old is unlikely to have any real prospects for the coming season. That’s why another temporary move is on the table.
Just this past winter, the Munich club loaned their young talent to Bundesliga rival 1. FC Köln. At “Effzeh,” Chavez appeared in seven matches exclusively as a substitute and logged a total of just 108 Bundesliga minutes. After Cologne did not exercise their purchase option, he returned to Munich—where, apparently, no permanent role is still planned for him.
His contract would need to be extended for another loan.
Chavez has been playing for FC Bayern since the U15 level and made his professional debut last season under head coach Vincent Kompany. On Matchday 16, he got an eight-minute taste of Bundesliga action in an 8-1 rout of VfL Wolfsburg, followed by another league appearance in January during a 1-2 loss to Augsburg.
Despite his limited playing time, the club reportedly continues to believe in the youngster’s potential. His contract in Munich runs through 2027—but for another loan, it would first have to be extended.
Things are also going well for Chavez outside the club: Last October, at the age of 18, he made his debut for the Peruvian national team. In recent weeks, FC Bayern has already let several young talents go—another departure would continue this trend.
