FC Bayern is reportedly keeping an eye on an English midfield gem. The focus is on Xavier Parker, who currently plays for Manchester City’s youth team. BVB is apparently also in the running for the 16-year-old.
A race is unfolding for the teenager that has long since extended beyond the UK. As TEAMtalk reports, Parker is considered one of the greatest talents of his age group in England—and that is precisely why he is attracting a whole host of top clubs.
Several Bundesliga clubs are particularly keen on him: In addition to FC Bayern, Borussia Dortmund is also said to have set its sights on the youngster, as has RB Leipzig. All three clubs have reportedly already held talks with the player’s side. And according to the report, Real Madrid is also closely monitoring the situation.
Manchester City wants to keep Parker
Parker is currently still playing in City’s youth academy, and the club actually wants to secure his long-term commitment. Behind the scenes, the club is trying to convince the young talent of a future at the Etihad Stadium—internally, he is seen as having what it takes to make the leap to the first team.
There is one catch, however: Parker won’t be able to sign a professional contract until after his 17th birthday on May 9, 2027. And although City’s offer is reportedly an “exceptional one,” the top prospect is said to still be hesitating.
The fact that the decision is still up in the air makes Parker an attractive prospect for half of Europe. In England, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Liverpool are reportedly vying for the youngster. Despite this competition, City remains confident that it can keep the player.
The English runners-up are facing a shakeup following Pep Guardiola’s departure anyway; former Guardiola assistant Enzo Maresca will take over as the new coach. For Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, Parker thus remains a talent to watch for now—there has been no talk of concrete offers so far.
