Speculation surrounding Michael Olise and Real Madrid has recently caused quite a stir. Now, new details have emerged that reveal just how close the relationship between FC Bayern and Real Madrid actually is.
Rumors of a possible transfer of Michael Olise to Real Madrid have been a hot topic of conversation in recent weeks. There has been repeated talk of a potential mega-offer from the Spanish club, with figures of 150 million euros and more being discussed in some reports.
But behind the scenes, a very different development is said to have been unfolding for some time.
As reported by Sport BILD, officials at FC Bayern and Real Madrid have jointly defused the issue internally. According to the report, there was even a “presidential pact” between Herbert Hainer and Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez.
This was triggered by reports in early June that Pérez had allegedly announced internally his intention to prepare an offer of 150 million euros for Olise. In addition, the Real president had publicly stated that the club could sign a superstar who would become the most expensive transfer in the club’s history.
These reports caused quite a stir at Säbener Straße.
Hainer and Pérez are said to have set the record straight
According to information from Sport BILD, the two presidents intervened personally and exchanged views directly.
In the process, both sides reportedly agreed that they would not poach players from each other without first officially informing the respective club of any potential interest.
Furthermore, neither FC Bayern nor Real Madrid intends to support publicly fueled rumors or potential price-gouging in the future.
The close ties between the two clubs are already considered exceptional. It was reportedly around the time of the Champions League matches last spring that Hainer and Pérez further strengthened their relationship.
Another fact illustrates just how close their ties have become: At the end of June, Hainer will speak to approximately 1,200 students at the Santiago Bernabéu at the invitation of Real Madrid.
Olise remains unsellable for Bayern
From a sporting perspective, Munich’s stance hasn’t changed anyway.
Olise still has a contract with FC Bayern through 2029 and does not have a buyout clause. Internally, the Frenchman is considered one of the most important players for the coming years.

Most recently, Uli Hoeneß also made it unmistakably clear how Bayern views the situation: “You can keep a close eye on Olise all you want, but you won’t get him.”
With this statement, the honorary president responded to speculation surrounding Real Madrid coach José Mourinho, who had recently been linked to the Bayern star on several occasions.
According to information from Sport BILD, the two clubs have cleared things up behind the scenes for the time being. For FC Bayern, the message is clear: Olise is set to become the face of the team in the long term —and a move to Madrid is currently out of the question.
