FC Bayern Munich plans to move quickly to extend the contracts of two top stars: Michael Olise and Harry Kane. Here’s the latest update on the situation.
It’s no secret that both Kane and Olise are high on the club’s priority list when it comes to contract extensions. The club is particularly eager to reach an agreement as quickly as possible with the Englishman, who is under contract with FC Bayern through the summer of 2027.
In Kane’s case, however, the club in Munich is fairly relaxed, as the Englishman has already signaled to the record champions that he is ready to extend his contract. Kane and his family feel extremely at home in Munich, but of course, this is likely to be his last major contract.
With Olise, things haven’t reached that stage yet. Bayern knows that other European clubs are interested, but the player himself, just like Kane, is happy in Munich.
Bayern: Contract talks are at a standstill
Both players are currently at the World Cup. Recently, there have been rumors that discussions with FC Bayern are continuing there. On the “Bayern Insider” podcast, the two SportBILD editors Julian Agardi and Christian Falk discussed the record champions’ talks with Kane and Olise.
And both made it clear: There will be no negotiations with the players during the World Cup. There is no concrete discussion, neither regarding figures nor their sporting future in the coming years. Talks are on hold during the tournament. That was the message from both Kane’s camp and Olise’s camp.
Both players, who have high hopes of winning the title, want to concentrate on the tournament and focus entirely on their tasks in North America. This isn’t unusual, either, because this is “only” about a contract extension and not, for example, a transfer.
For FC Bayern, this means they can use the time during the World Cup to thoroughly prepare for talks with these two key players before things get really serious once the attacking stars return from vacation.
Until then, the rumor mill will continue to buzz, especially regarding Michael Olise. The French attacking star is heavily linked with Real Madrid, but Bayern officials have recently shut the door on a transfer more than clearly. Olise is under contract with FCB through 2029.
