FC Bayern can hope for important returnees in the final spurt of the season. Lennart Karl and Tom Bischof have taken the next step towards their comeback
There is positive news from FC Bayern’s injury department: two promising youngsters, Lennart Karl and Tom Bischof, have returned to the team
Both completed parts of the team training session today (Thursday), sending out a clear signal with regard to their return to the squad. Karl and Bischof had been working intensively on their comeback after tearing muscle fibres
Just a few days ago, both players had been training individually at Säbener Straße and working on their fitness under the guidance of Benjamin Sommer’s rehab team. Bischof has recently invested an enormous amount of time in his recovery and worked specifically on his return
The midfielder, who moved to Munich in the summer of 2025, has already made numerous appearances in his first season and impressed with strong performances. Karl had also previously presented himself as one of the greatest attacking talents in Vincent Kompany’s squad
Their return to team training is now an important milestone, and although it remains to be seen when both will be fully fit again, their development gives hope that they will play in the final stages of the season
Karl and Bischof are options for the end of the season
Especially in the hot phase with the Champions League and DFB Cup, additional options in the squad could be crucial. Bayern have had to contend with personnel shortages on several occasions in recent weeks – especially in attack

With Karl, Kompany would regain an important alternative in the ten position, while Bischof can take on several roles thanks to his versatility in midfield
It is clear that both players will be built up carefully, but their return to team training is a clear signal – and good news for FC Bayern in the battle for further titles this season.
