The pay-TV channel Sky revealed this week that Kevin Schade is an issue at FC Bayern, and BILD has now confirmed these reports and provided further details
The 24-year-old is currently having a strong season in England with FC Brentford and has attracted the interest of several clubs – including FC Bayern
Schade is still under contract with Brentford until 2028 and is currently one of the most eye-catching German attacking players in the Premier League. The former Freiburg player has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 29 competitive games this season
According to information from BILD, those responsible at FC Bayern are keeping a close eye on the winger’s development. What is particularly interesting is that Bayern are not just watching from afar. The player’s advisors are also said to have already been informed that Munich are interested in the German international
The five-time DFB international is represented by the agency of well-known consultant Ali Barat, who also looks after Bayern winger Nicolas Jackson, among others
Bayern looking for backup for Díaz
The background to the interest lies in Munich’s squad planning, with sporting director Max Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund apparently looking for an additional winger for the left side of the attack
Behind Luis Díaz, who was signed in the summer, Bayern want to add another player who can put pressure on the team and ideally also serve as a rotation option. Schade could basically fit this profile well with his pace, dynamism and experience from the Bundesliga and Premier League
However, a potential transfer could fail primarily due to the financial framework conditions. The 24-year-old’s market value is currently estimated at around 35 million euros. According to information from BILD, however, Brentford are demanding a transfer fee of at least 70 million euros for the attacking player
Such a sum would presumably be difficult for FC Bayern to justify – especially for a player who would initially be planned as a supplement behind Luis Díaz
At the same time, the player’s advisors are apparently also looking at other options. According to BILD, there have already been contacts with several English clubs
Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur, among others, are said to be potentially interested
A move to FC Bayern therefore seems rather unlikely at the moment. Nevertheless, Kevin Schade remains a player that Munich officials are keeping a close eye on. Should the transfer situation change, the DFB international could quickly become a more concrete topic again in Munich.
