The signs are becoming increasingly clear: Nicolas Jackson has no future at FC Bayern. The record champions and the attacker will part ways again in the summer
As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports, the Senegalese will „100 percent“ not remain in Munich beyond the summer. A clear announcement – and effectively the end of an experiment that was under special auspices from the outset
Jackson arrived last summer as a last-minute transfer from Chelsea FC. The idea behind it was understandable: to relieve the pressure on Harry Kane and strengthen the width of the attack. However, the economic conditions alone raised eyebrows both internally and externally. A loan fee of €13 million and a rumoured salary of up to €14 million made Jackson one of the most expensive reserve players in the club’s history
In sporting terms, the 24-year-old was unable to live up to the high expectations. In 22 competitive matches, he scored just six points – a tally that does not do justice to either the financial outlay or the record champions‘ aspirations. Above all, he hardly played a role in the decisive phases of the season
Purchase option not exercised

FC Bayern secured a purchase option of 65 million euros in the loan contract. Reports have been growing in recent weeks that the Munich club will not activate this clause. Although it was said at times that they would be willing to talk if the transfer fee was significantly reduced, Romano now contradicts all speculation. Jackson will definitely return
It is therefore clear that Bayern are planning without the striker. The question that nevertheless arises concerns the squad structure. In fact, FCB still have no real backup for Harry Kane in the center of attack. If the Englishman is unavailable or has to be rested, there is no clear alternative with a comparable profile
Jackson’s departure is logical from a sporting point of view – but it also raises new questions. Will they be active on the transfer market again in the summer? Or will they rely internally on flexible solutions with attacking players who can interpret the nine depending on the situation?
