Ahead of the clash with Arsenal, many eyes will be on two Bayern players who have been struggling of late. How are Joshua Kimmich and Lennart Karl faring?
Joshua Kimmich has apparently overcome his ankle problems. After the Freiburg game, which he skipped out of caution, the midfield boss has now returned to team training. Shortly after the final whistle, he had already radiated confidence in the mixed zone: „It’s getting better,“ Kimmich explained about his damaged ankle. When asked whether he would play against Arsenal with tape, he replied briefly and decisively: „Definitely with it!“
Lennart Karl is also apparently available again. The 17-year-old, who played strongly in the 6-2 win against Freiburg, was substituted in the second half with a knock. Shortly afterwards , the attacking player gave the all-clear: „I took a knock in training yesterday, but everything is fine.“ Coach Vincent Kompany was also optimistic: „He laughed a lot after the game and was in a good mood. So I hope it’s nothing serious.“
Will Karl get his next start?
Now there is the green light from Säbener Straße for both players: Both Kimmich and Karl completed the full programme with the team again on Tuesday. The injuries appear to have been cured and both players could play a role in the clash with Arsenal FC at the Emirates Stadium. Also pleasing: With the exception of Jamal Musiala, all players, including the long-term injured Alphonso Davies, were on the training pitch.

With the return of the home-grown talent and the leading player, Vincent Kompany has two important options for his line-up. While Kimmich is likely to start, Lennart Karl can also hope to start again, as Luis Diaz is suspended after his red card in the game against Paris in the Champions League.
Munich will be looking to consolidate their lead at the top of the table against the Londoners on Wednesday evening (kick-off 21:00).
