Although Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies are options again, their fitness levels remain an issue. Kompany explained: „Both are options for the next few games. Whether they can play three games in a week or the full 90 minutes is another question.“ The coach thus left open the question of how big a role the two could play against Freiburg and in the subsequent Champions League clash.
The Belgian also made it clear that the situation leaves few alternatives. „But we no longer have the luxury of having so much choice. We have to win,“ emphasized Kompany at the press conference. At this stage of the season in particular, every player is called upon.
Kompany wants to make „logical decisions“
Despite the uncertainties, the Bayern coach sees positive approaches in the returning players. „And everyone has to deliver to the maximum and show their best level,“ the 39-year-old made clear. Musiala and Davies are to be reintroduced step by step.
